Review: Wow - this was unexpected. Trailers had to think after watching Battle Los Angeles and this would be another dismal special effects and action-packed science fiction blockbuster run on alien invasion - that trailer failed to send almost their entirely is that for long periods of time, this is also seasoned with almost as much humor as Groundhog Day. That comparisons with the classic Harold Ramis invitaríaa / Bill Murray was obvious, given the premise of time warp, but I never expected what point these comparisons really justified, and that This film will really benefit from the same kind of comedy. Fortunately, it is better for unexpected it.Most all, the main reason for the aspects of comics in the first half of the film work so well is Tom Cruise's character, Major William Cage. This is easy Cruises meatiest role and in turn Magnolia Frank TJ Mackey; usually forgotten heroes stern its poster boy: You play a completely different character? and he really seems to enjoy the opportunity. I will not reveal more, but be prepared to laugh reíry when you see a new side of Tom Cruise.Yet while this is not as bleak as suggested trailers, certainly not is a comedy either. And it is absolutely full of action, special effects driven science fiction blockbuster about fighting an alien invasion (trailer right), but with a funny bone and great characters. Speaking of that, rest of the cast is also very good, especially the beautiful Emily Blunt. It seems that no matter what I do, always appears as authentic and real; here it succeeds in portraying her character - a tough, experienced soldier soldiers call another full metal bitch (no kidding!) - with the right touch of vulnerability to make it more believable. Bill Paxton and Brendon Gleeson is always a welcome addition to any film, and while they are great (as usual), character wise, they do nothing here you have not seen it done forward. Regarding science fiction shows that trailers promised, I am happy to report that the film offers. The battle scenes are well orchestrated (no blur Transformer style if you can not see anything), and there are times when the intensity of the fighting, remember the landing on Omaha Beach in Saving Private Ryan - no gore, of course (after all, this is PG-13). Foreign design - production design in general - is incredibly well done, although lying if I said it was something new and innovative in the way that the first Matrix was (is awesome though) So , my verdict. With one of the (adapted) inventive script for the original film (mega-budget) in a long time Tom Cruise and the best I've seen in years, Edge MA holds will laugh and laugh as much as you drop your jaw in awe: this is what Hollywood should be modeled for interesting summer entertainment. 9 out of 10.Favorite Films: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls054200841/ |
